wisdom speaks: When you just "don't deal with people like that."

Therapy lesson of the day from the therapist. You can't close yourself off from the world as a means of self protection and expect to be successful in fulfilling God's vision for your life. When people make statements like, "see that's why I don't deal with people like that, I stay to myself, I don't deal with other women like that. I don't go to church because of church folks."

They are only indicating that they have a diseased heart that needs to be healed from the past hurts. You will NEVER be able to walk in your full potential in isolation. It's not God's will for you to isolate yourself in fear of people. Everyone is NOT going to intentionally hurt you. Guarded people are hurting people. God will use PEOPLE to favor you. Even though favor comes from Him, he releases it to and through people who have what you need. It is your own fearful heart that will reject someone that God sent to bless you.

What if the most fulfilling relationship (friends included) is waiting on you but you allow fear to cause you to miss a god thing and god moment. Don't let the hurt of your past dictate your today and forfeit your tomorrow. One day you will wake up lonely, friendless and by yourself because of nobody but you.

BTW being isolated is not the same as being an introvert. Believe it or not introverts love people. They just value meaningful conversations over meaningless chatter. They enjoy quality of friends over quantity. They are not busy bees but extra productive, big difference.

It takes a friendly person to gain authentic friends. It takes a fearful hurting soul to reject friendly people. No one is going to pursue you to be apart of your life, when you don't embrace healing.

Remember walls are NOT the same as boundaries. God wants us to have healthy boundaries NOT walls. God wants us to have meaningful relationships. I am not just referring to romantic relationships. I am referring to your interaction with people.
Remember isolation is a temporary season but it is your own unresolved hurt that will make a temporary season permanent.
