You don't have to respond to rude! 4.24.2014

I choose not to respond to.....

A few weeks ago I had another client in my office. She was extremely rude. I mean extremely extremely rude. She sat in my office with shades on and barely answered my questions. When she did respond to my questions they were very condescending and sarcastic. I mean I have had some experiences in my line of work but she was one of the worst.

I immediately knew it wasn't anything I had done to her. Really she was emotionally wounded. It just happened my assignment from God was to be the person she met that day. Yes it was an opportunity to show the love of Christ but honestly it was hard. I did but it wasn't easy and my flesh wanted to scream.

Anyway last week she ask to see me. So I walk over she says, "I am so sorry for how rude I was to you. You were so patient with me. It wasn't you I was just going through that day and you didn't deserve that."

Turns out I had referred her to another minister who works there she was very encouraged and doing a lot better. Although her situation had not changed completely she was getting help.

The point is I was so glad in that moment that my flesh didn't respond like I wanted to

When people take issue with you and are down right attacking, rude and demeaning most times it really has nothing to do with you. Particularly when they really don't know you or your situation like that. You would think that since we both know struggle people would know how to respond to each other in a appropriate Christ like manner. But that isn't always the case. This client was a devoted Christian by the way.

The point is I choose not to respond to hate. Hate can't cast out hate. Rude can't cast out rude. The only answer to hate is love.

Show the love of Christ even when it hurts and God will bless you. That woman came out with greater respect for me. I came out with a greater more profound love for CHRIST and her honestly. I wouldn't hesitate to help her again even if she was rude because the lesson was so much greater than the hurt.

I choose not to respond but to show the love of Christ regardless of the circumstance.

Beside when your in Christ you don't have to prove yourself to anyone He has already approved you.
